Dvorak’s Mass in D and Stainer’s Crucifixion

Saturday 26th March 2022 rescheduled from 2020

St Luke’s Church, Tiptree (CO5 0SU) at 19:30

‘A truly a magnificent piece of music’ – this is how the Mass in D was described in 1894, so why not come along to St Luke’s Church and judge for yourselves? A simple piece, it has lovely flowing melodies and a kind of joy for life inspired by nature and the folk music traditions of Dvorak’s homeland. Stainer’s popular Crucifixion, a meditation written to be sung in just such a church as St Luke’s, has beauty and drama together with familiar hymn tunes and the much-loved anthem ‘God so loved the world’. A concert of music not to be missed - make sure you are there!

For their spring concert, Tiptree Choral Society is performing Dvorak’s Mass in D and Stainer’s Crucifixion. The choir, under their Musical Director Malcolm Boulter, is delighted to be joined by soloists:

  • Beverley Lockyer
  • Elaine Henson
  • Michael Savage
  • Victor Sgarbi
