Please note online sales will cease at 1:30pm on the day of the concert. Tickets will be available at the door.

Tiptree Choral Society, conducted by Malcolm Boulter and accompanied by Jonathan Lilley on the organ, will be performing Beethoven’s Mass in C and Mozart’s Requiem Mass.

Beethoven had not written a Mass before this one and instead of the usual format of chorus and aria, this one seems more like an opera, with no separate arias for soloists; instead, they intermingle with the chorus throughout. The Society, with soloists Carolyn Cook, Judith Douglas, Michael Savage and Richard Woodall, is delighted to be performing it again for the first time in ten years.

Together with the Beethoven Mass, the choir will sing Mozart’s beautiful unfinished Requiem. A personal work – Mozart is said to have written it for his father, or possibly, as he was ill at the time, even for himself - its haunting Lacrimosa is likely to be familiar to many.

We look forward to your joining us. Tickets online; by phone 01206 734625; from choir members or on the door.
